Next Version of Android 4.4 Is Called Kitkat

Again Android kept the codename of its new updated version of its operating system after a sweet treat or we can say deserts. Kitkat will be the codename of the next updated android version 4.4 as confirmed by the head of android and chrome Sundar Pillai via its Google + page. But there is no mention about what will it include and when it is going to be released. Yes we are right kitkat is a trademarked name of the chocolate candy bar made by nestle. But it has seen first time that android has chosen to select a name of a trademarked product. After long rumor of launching Key Lime Pie for version 5.0 after 4.1 version jelly bean, android is going to launch 4.4 kitkat instead.

Android 4.4 Kitkat

This much coverage and concern over a name of an updated OS is just because android is one of the favorite OS all around the world and according to Google it has reached over one billion smart phone activation, surpassing the 900million mark throughout the world.

There a question arises to us why this co-branding? Last year someone at Google suggested that its next version name should be kitkat then Google reached out to nestle and within 24 hours nestle agreed. Google has apparently teamed up with the Nestle’s kitkat and this is an actual cross branding initiative with kitkat but Google has not paid anything for the privilege. According to Google, its goal is to make an amazing android experience for everyone.

It might be proven risky for Nestle as android 4.4 versions might be plagued by malware or bugs. Nestle soon will be releasing a limited edition of android kitkat bar, you might be lucky one to win a nexus 7 or Google play credits by purchasing it.
