The initials Apple WWDC stands for Apple World Wide Developers Conference. The conference takes place annually. This year it took place at San Francisco, Moscone West. Developers around the world, that is members of the iOS Developer Program, and the Mac Developer Program attend the WWDC event to share the latest innovation ideas. This year’s event was held on the 14th of June.
Aim of Apple WWDC 2013
Apple WWDC 2013 showcased the latest innovations and the newest technologies in iOS and Mac OS X platforms. Developers learnt about the future of iOS and OS X, enabling them to create incredible new applications with innovative features. WWDC featured more than one thousand technical sessions presented by over one thousand Apple engineers who assisted developers to integrate new technologies in their apps. It also featured the famous Apple Design Awards.
WWDC 2013 Activities
Activities that took place in this year’s WWDC event are:
- iOS and OS X latest innovations, specifications and capabilities showcase.
- Strategies and enhancement of an application’s functionality and performance, quality and design.
- Sharing ideas with other iOS and OS X developers around the world where by at least every country should be represented.
- Awarding of the Apple Design Awards to developers of applications that show excellence in technicality, innovation and outstanding designs.
- Apple engineers giving insight to techniques towards development and guidance on how they can make the most of iOS and OS X technology in applications.
iOS and OS X Systems
iOS is a mobile operating system developed and distributed by Apple Inclusive. It was unveiled in 2007 for the iPhone. Years of hard work has seen its integration into other Apple devices including the iPod Touch, iPad and second-generation Apple TV.
OS X is a series of Unix-based graphical interface operating systems which are exclusively developed and sold by Apple. The operating runs solely on Mac computers. All Macs that Apple has developed since 2002 comes preloaded with it. It was the successor to Mac OS 9.

Procreate is an iPad application packed with features that artistes love. Technology has moved from sets of painting and pencils to unique digital tools. It is complete art studio, aesthetic and creative excellence. - Mosaic. Io
Mosaic is an iPad and iPhone application developed by students. Mosaic io connects two or more iOS devices around a single image. Mosaic. Io supports retina display and creates a gorgeous photo mosaic across two or more iOS devices screens with a simple swipe of a finger.
Among other applications awarded are, badland an iPhone and iPad application, yahoo weather application, letter press and coda 2.
